Mikayla Surprenant joined our team on November, 2023, as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. She graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College with her Associates in Applied Science in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Mikayla is enthusiastic about developing rapport with clients and their families and helping them achieve their goals. Outside of her work here, she also holds another position as a recreational and competitive gymnastics coach, leveraging her lifelong passion for gymnastics.
Her dedication to occupational therapy dates back to middle school when she spent free periods playing with children in the special education program, volunteered with Special Olympics, and contributed to an adaptive gymnastics group. This early exposure ignited her passion for the field, and she has since fallen in love with the career’s potential to make a positive impact on children’s lives.
Mikayla, originally from Oak Creek, Wisconsin, has always known that she wanted to be an Occupational Therapy Practitioner. Her diverse experiences, both professionally and personally, contribute to her commitment to making a difference in the lives of children. She is eager to bring her knowledge and passion to our collaborative environment, contributing to the various treatment spaces our clinic has to offer.
In her free time, Mikayla enjoys coaching gymnastics, drawing on her gymnastics background, and is looking forward to exploring the opportunities for growth and collaboration within our clinic.
