Sonja Christensen

Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist

Sonja joined our team in June 2023.

Her background features a BA in Communication Sciences & Disorders, a BA in Spanish from University of Northern Iowa & a MS in Speech Language Pathology with Bilingual English-Spanish Specialization from Marquette University. Her favorite thing about being a part of the team so far is the collaborative environment.

“It’s really cool to see how PTs, OTs and SLPs all work together to ensure that the best care possible is given to each client.”

In her free time she likes to go hiking, trying new restaurants, watching movies, reading or spending time with friends!

She became a Speech-Language Pathologist after realizing the importance of the profession due to circumstances in her own family.

“I didn’t know much about speech pathology when I started college, but when my grandma had a stroke during my sophomore year, I quickly realized the importance of what SLPs do! I love that we can work with all ages, and in so many different unique areas of treatment. Everyone deserves a way to communicate and as SLPs, we help them to find the way that works best for them”

She is originally from Indianola, Iowa, and her favorite food (right now) is sushi!
